AgriWheel Charging Methods
One of the many benefits of the unique AgriWheel gate opening system, is that you do not have to connect any cables to the main electricity supply. In this day and age of health & safety rules such as 'Part P', this can only be an added bonus. No electrician required to certify it.
Any cables that have to be laid or run from the chosen power source to the gate are just carrying safe low voltage (12 volts DC). You can choose to tack this on a fence, lay it in a hedge, dig it in, but it is up to you. We do however, advise you to use armoured cables for long runs, just to prevent animals chewing through and breaking the connections.
As AgriWheel is a battery powered automatic gate opening system, all you need to do is to attach the most suitable charging method for your application. This is either in the form of a charger that simply plugs into a 13-amp socket or a solar panel.
As a general rule (if cost is the deciding factor) for runs of about 100 metres or shorter, you are better using our mains chargers. For longer distances it becomes very much more feasible to use solar power. However, some customers choose to use solar power more for environmental reasons but with the knowledge that charging the battery is going to cost them nothing in the coming years.
